The Bible Comes Alive: Christian Baptism - February 21, 2019

February 21, 2019  /  7:00 PM  /  OVU Main Campus (Room 139)

Presented by Jeffery Donley, PhD  |  see full bio

Christian Baptism is among the clearest and most articulated doctrines in the New Testament. But, at the same time, there is more confusion, alternative teachings, contentions, and divisions with regard to Christian baptism than any other teaching in Christendom.

Some teach immersion, some pouring, some sprinkling. Some teach that baptism is only a symbol of identification. Some teach that baptism is as an outward sign of an inward grace already given at faith. Some teach that infants are to be baptized while others limit baptism to adults (those old/mature enough to know right from wrong). Some teach that baptism is not necessary in order to become a Christian; some teach that it is necessary. Some teach that baptism is a sacrament; some teach that it is an ordinance along with the Lord’s Supper.

Who is right? They can’t all be right!

In this presentation, Dr. Donley clears up all of the confusion by just allowing God’s Word, the Bible, to provide the truth about Christian baptism.

This event is free and open to the public!
