Digital Library of Appalachia The Digital Library of Appalachia seeks to provide online access to archival and historical materials related to the culture of the southern and central Appalachian region. The thirty-three member libraries, archives, and museums associated with the Appalachian College Association, known collectively as ALICE (Appalachian Library Information Cooperative Endeavors), seek to generate interest and encourage continued scholarship for the entire region. Information in the database exists as reproductions of color or black and white photographs, reformatted typed pages, published books, unpublished manuscripts, personal diaries and correspondence, journal and newspaper articles, musical recordings, oral history recordings and transcripts, and other related reproductions. As of December 2001, there are 1,000 items in this database.
Education Full Text Education Full Text is a bibliographic database that indexes and abstracts articles of at least one column in length from English-language periodicals and yearbooks published in the United States and elsewhere. English-language books relating to education published in 1995 or later are also indexed. Abstracting coverage begins with January 1994. Abstracts range from 50 to 300 words and describe the content and scope of the source documents. Full-text coverage begins in January 1996.

History E-Book Project The American Council of Learned Societies History E-Book Project launched on its website over 500 books of high quality in the field of history. Currently the total number of titles stands at over 800. These are works of major importance to historical studies—books that remain vital to both scholars and advanced students, and are frequently cited in the literature. Over the next few years, the History E-Book Project plans to add approximately 250 books annually to the collection, as well as a carefully selected list of new electronic titles that have the potential to use web-based technologies to communicate the results of scholarship in new ways.
