Dr. Jeffery Donley, PhD

Dr. Jeffery Donley is a dad, grandfather, teacher, preacher, college professor, Theologian, New Testament scholar, Historian, and can dunk a basketball—well he use to be able to!

Dr. Donley is Professor and Scholar in Residence at Ohio Valley University. He earned four masters degrees and a PhD degree from Cardiff University, Wales, United Kingdom.

As a master story-teller, Jeffery has the gift of being able to bring his audience into any given situation and not only see what transpires but feel the emotions as if they were there themselves. He has spoken on numerous Biblical and other historical topics in many churches across the United States. Jeffery has also spoken at state, national, and international conferences in Singapore, Canada, and the United States.

Dr. Donley was invited to the University of Manchester, England to translate one of the more famous of the Dead Sea Scrolls, The Copper Scroll. He is able to translate twelve different languages—ten of them are ancient languages including Greek and Hebrew.

The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education in Stanford, California, selected Jeffery as Professor of the Year for all colleges/universities in the State of Florida.

Dr. Donley was invited to Harvard University to participate in a symposium titled “The Virtuosity of Teaching.” He also has been awarded five National Endowment for the Humanities Awards (NEH)—including working with Dr. Hans Hildebrand and other scholars at Duke University.

Jeffery was appointed by two Florida Governors to serve two terms on the state’s Commission for Volunteer Florida. And, Jeffery had the privilege of being nominated to be on President George W. Bush’s Education Team by one of Florida’s Secretaries.

For a number of years, Jeffery volunteered at the Coalition for the Homeless in Orlando, Florida and at Give Kids the World, Kissimmee, Florida. Give Kids the World Village is a 70-acre, non-profit resort in Central Florida that creates magical memories for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. Jeffery was in the entertainment division where he dressed up as Kailey the Penguin and Mayor Clayton (a giant rabbit) to make the children happy.
