Ohio Valley University’s Metadisciplinary Honors Studies Program organizes the curricula so that the best teachers — those who truly engage students in the odyssey of learning — are foregrounded. The faculty members of the MDS Honors Program, regardless of their disciplinary specialization, believe in “the integration of Christian theology and learning,” which pursues academic study within the framework of the assumptions and presuppositions of the Biblical worldview, i.e., there is no bifurcation of faith and knowledge.

The MDS Honors faculty members are educated at some of the world’s top graduate schools, have state, national and international accomplishments in their respective fields, and who serve as academic, professional and spiritual mentors to students.

MDS Honors Professors train students to think critically, constructively, and theologically about their faith and the Bible and about the world. They are passionate about bringing God’s Word to their students and empowering them to understand its meaning and significance in their own lives.

Therefore, MDS Honors faculty members are obedient to the following Scriptures:

“You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also” (2 Timothy 2:1-2; emphasis mine).

“So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by our spoken word or by our letter” (2 Thessalonians 2:15; emphasis mine).
